The OVC is a news and data aggregation organization in Cloudbank. OVC Terminals provide a crucial part of the town's infrastructure.

The OVC's byline is "The City of Cloudbank, Only For You!"

Overview[]

The OVC Board and its elected Chairperson oversees the organization's services, employing editors to provide content and maintaining a network of terminals across Cloudbank. The OVC Relay is in Highrise near Jallaford Square.

OVC Terminals are used for polls, text and voice, and public and private communication. In addition to private individuals, businesses, and groups, the OVC is used by Cloudbank Central Administration and other organizations. Municipal votes are gathered through OVC Terminals for collation by the Administration Office, and emergency alerts are also transmitted via the terminals.

History[]

LPlatt — Lillian Platt, former Chairwoman of the OVC Board.

Under Lillian Platt, the youngest-ever as Chairwoman of the OVC Board, broadcast quality strengthened more than fourfold and the town's number of OVC Terminals more than doubled. However, Platt resigned after less than two years, the youngest-ever individual to leave the post. Her access to privileged OVC information regarding ongoing missing-persons investigations may have contributed to the circumstances of her subsequent disappearance.

Asher Kendrell, an OVC culture-and-current-events editor, was drawn into the Camerata and used his access and low profile to advance the organization's agenda, leading to the Process's invasion of Cloudbank.

During the invasion, OVC's services were used to transmit emergency alerts and coordinate evacuation efforts. Some OVC terminals were experiencing a high load as early as 6-27-67 05:04, though the network continued to transmit, with only a few terminals experiencing errors, throughout most of the event.

Amelia Garbur, an OVC Associate Editor, continued to post news updates until 06-28-67 at 13:40, moments before her death.

Terminal locations[]

Goldwalk District: Head north from Junction Jan's.
Goldwalk Channel: Entrance can be found southwest or northeast of the Access Point after Junction Jan's.
Box Office: Inside a small building. The entrance can be found at the western section of Amphitheatre Parkway.
Amphitheatre Parkway: On the downstairs walkway leading from the Amphitheatre Parkway to the Empty Set.
Flashback Starting Area: When Red spawns in the unmarked alley, go left.
Port 37 Archway: In a room behind the Backdoor entrance, you can find a terminal hidden.
Canals District: After the second battle in this area, you should fine one the right side of the area.
Ferry Building: Immediately upon entering this area, you should see one on the right side.
Terrace Plaza: Just before the Terrace Apartments, take the left staircase to find the terminal.
Bracket Towers: Once you exit the gondola, head south.
Fairview: Take the Current going to X = -4920, Y = 192.
Fairview: Take the Current going to X =-1003, Y = 905.

While the news on the OVC is written by Cloudbank's residents, the organization does seem to monopolize the distribution of information. Greg Kasavin remarked that someone like Wave Tennegan would "probably spend hours discussing that topic."^[1]
